Our time in San Francisco is done so it's time to pick up a convertible Mustang and drive the Pacific Coast Highway!
If you aren't familiar, the Pacific Cost Hwy is famous and likely starred in more movies than Bradley Cooper.
In order to really hit the road Thelma and Louise style, we first had to cross the Golden Gate Bridge.
Almost everyone I know who's been, has been dismayed that the bridge was hidden by fog. In fact, prior to arriving almost our whole trip was forecast to be grey and raining but as you can see, it's been glorious!
On the agenda today was to drive out to Santa Rosa with stops for a forest walk and the redwoods of course! First up was what became an unexpected highlight - hiking the top of Mt. Tamalpais.
We had the achievement of saying we hiked the top of a mountain (and the reward of the views!) but also the trek started at the top part and they've built a slow incline hike that was totally doable for my travel weary body and for my mother.
From there we enjoyed some winding roads to Muir Woods National Park, famous for the redwoods.
It is breathtaking to stand amongst these giants. Placing my hand on their bark, centred me. I felt calm and grounded. It's an experience that's hard to describe.
