San Francisco & The MoMA

Hope you enjoy all the upcoming blogs about my recent trip to California! This was a dream trip of mine and while I didn't cross off all the must see or do's I did get to a lot of them!
This was also the first trip my mother and I have gone on together as two women exploring the world. I don't take this experience for granted and am not only thankful that I got to explore so much of Northern California, but also that I did it with her.

Having arrived in San Francisco late and checking into the hotel, I was too tired to even make it out for dinner. Uber was ordered and a good night's sleep was on the agenda. Bright and early we were up and googling the perfect breakfast spot.

The most important highlight of Day 1 was to get ourselves to SFMOMA ( Museum of Modern Art).

The MoMA absolutely did not disappoint! Interesting exhibits from artists that I was familiar with as well as brand new to me. The highlights were of course pieces I'd dreamed of seeing.

There were many Warhol's on display but the Elvis and Dolly were my faves!
It was the Diego Rivera on loan while a new home is being built for it, that really took my breath away. Complete awe to stand before it.

*not me

Alexander Calder exhibition was fun and my mom was reminiscing about her uncle's love of Calder. We took our photo with the large scale pieces outdoor along the living wall. The MoMA is just a stunning place!

Just a few more highlights from inside MoMA!!

It's hard to believe but this was only half of our first day! Next I'll take you to the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus and share some dreamy designer pieces...
