The unsung hero of a summer wardrobe is the outfit we go to on those occasional chilly/rainy summer days. Of course in Canada, one can never predict when these will appear or what plans it will potentially spoil. Canadians are a summer resourceful group - we plan and squeeze in as many activities during our summer months as we can physically handle.
A necessity for me is something breezy enough to keep cool if the weather changes but covers me enough from the blaring AC on days where I want to peruse Homesense or sit in a movie theatre for the big summer blockbusters.
Typically the problem I have with a billowy comfy look is that, when I put them together I love them but my heart sinks once I try them on. The look seems thrown together and sloppy vs. the polished chic look I want.
But, if one was able to find the perfect casual and put together a cool summer vibe, I think California might be a logical place to find it. These perfect summer linen pants came from my recent Cali trip and a gleeful trip into a Napa Valley Target!
Being 6ft tall and plus size means sometimes I have to wear a cropped leg if I really want a pair of pants. I was pretty shook to discover these Target wide legs reached all the way to the floor on me!
It definitely helps making this a more chic and put together look!
Of course I love the colour and pattern but I've been drawn to wear them with white consistently since buying them. I could go bold with a coloured top, and I might... eventually, but this look gives me everything I was craving.
I also have to give a shoutout to one of the most darling shops in our quaint Prince Edward County - The Love Loft. My super cool earrings are from this studio shop that supports women owned business. There is also another reason they get a shoutout today (besides the fact that I just adore Jannet & Jade)! I chose to shoot this outfit in my office today because (well it matches but) I made a recent addition to my art wall. The golden heart in the top right, is an encaustic creation by Jannet and it's amazing.
