I’m completely ready to start a nomad life so I can live in warm weather year round. And also can it always be the weekend?
I kind of want to live in a permanent weekend mode and wear party outfits on the regular.
In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m obsessed with Eloquii’s summer line. The site is filled with amazing sales plus the types of patterns and colours that get me wound up. Rumour has it this skirt is now on sale!
Paired with just a simple Old Navy tank top and some fun nails, this outfit got me enough compliments while out for coffee and some local window shopping, to make me blush.
I don’t really talk about my family much here on the blog, but today you get a look into that part of my life while following along on my recent adventure to Ottawa.
Recently my son, Phoenix, graduated from high school. When your one and only child makes this big step into adulthood I assure, it’s impossible to not become emotional, reflective…and a little big clingy.
As a single mother this gentle giant has been my best companion and the greatest sidekick for all adventures. It seemed completely fitting to organize one last roadtrip together before he moves in August for college. Since Canada is celebrating 150 years I chose Ottawa, our capital.
We spent our time visiting some awesome places, eating great food and making memories I’m going to carry with me for a long time.
Long on my list of places to visit has been the National Gallery. Since we spent many of our days together at galleries, in art classes or at my art school together it seemed fitting to go with my son.
I wore my new favourite maxi dress from Forever21+ and then this happened…
You can’t plan this kind of awesome. Even a curator walking by stopped to have a laugh and congratulate me on a great photo op!
While this photo looks like a pregnancy announcement, I swear it is not .. I just love Klimt.
After a morning at the gallery and some shopping we decided we weren’t hungry enough for lunch but could some how manage enough room for this…
We had hopes of checking out the Museum of Science and Technology but it was still under construction so we chose the Museum of Nature instead. It was pretty fantastic in it’s own right!
Most magical was probably this 3 story high jellyfish. It was amazing from every angle!
So this mama is home, tired and my feet are just a wee bit sore today but I’m incredibly thankful for all the laughs and memories we just created. Hopefully we have lots of roadtrips ahead of us…
This ASOS Curve dress was a long shot since ordering it online without being able to try it on and it’s a style that I’ve never tried. Not to mention this was much more form fitting than my usual look but it was well worth the risk!
Purse from Target.
This dresses crepe fabric, dramatic flare and fabulous pattern make this a total score for outdoor parties!
So who would like this dress for their very own?
In the most ridiculous fashion I some how ordered two of this gorgeous dress so I’m going to share the fabulous style with one lucky reader! This dress is from ASOS Curve collection, is a size 24UK (I’m a 22US).

I’m so completely in love with bright colours although I tend to reserve them to home decor far too often. I’m always telling myself, this season I will buy all the colours!
We had endless amounts of rain over my vacation so of course now that I’m work ready… the sun is shining once again. I’m loving this outfit, mostly from Eloqui as the perfect day to night type of look. This will be going into the suitcase for work trips this summer.
When life gets a little too hectic and you have zero time to blog, you go on vacation!
I wish I could regale you with stories of wild pool parties, exotic locations and a killer tan but since I already live in on of Canada’s favourite vacation locales I spent a week off just enjoying my town and completely winding down.
It was perfection.
Day 1 – I already look less stressed, and 100% more floral.
Another new addition to my look – a Summer update for my hair! I decided for a more pink colour and blunt bangs. Pleased as (pink) punch!
Since our teen years haven’t we all wanted to be part of The Pink Ladies and wear the coveted satin jacket?
I’m not going to even dig into my love of Rizzo and pencil skits right now but I did find the perfect satin bomber for myself recently from Charlotte Russe!
I fell in love with this jacket after having seen much more expensive versions all over lately. I wasn’t ready to commit a lot of funds for this possibly fleeting fashion but this one is available in standard and plus sizes from Charlotte Russe and currently on sale for under $25!!
The Boohoo Coated denim pants from ASOS Curve were another great deal for $30 but there are only a few pairs left now and they are going for $15! Rush to ASOS for this steal but I would suggest sizing up as they were tighter than I expected.
I’m loving the sunny Spring weather and recently got the pink redone in my hair which always makes me feel wonderful.
I hope your weekend has been filled with impossibly high sugar intakes and sweet love!
Easter celebrations are low key now that my only child has hit the late teens and while he did enjoy chocolate and I got hugs and kisses, there was sadly no Easter Egg Hunt for me him this year.
Regardless of egg hunts or sugar highs I still can’t resist a outfit with a theme. This adorable bunny top is curtesy of H&M’s plus line. I’ve scored some really great picks from them although the line is very limited. Take note: they offer a lot more online and only select stores carry the plus items.
