Boxing Day, add to cart #1

You would think that post Christmas my shopping addiction would be curbed but let’s be real… Boxing Day is irresistible. The lure of all the things you didn’t receive from your wish list, suddenly being on sale, is just too good.

Boxing Day sales ensnared me with their email campaigns and I found myself gleefully adding to cart.

Let’s see what arrived first (because honestly, in the whirlwind of it all I probably already forget what’s on it’s way).

I’ve long wanted my own copy of the game for horrible people. Everyone and their obnoxious siblings owns it. I decided to order my copy in time for my son’s birthday.

It was a horribly wonderful way to celebrate his 19th birthday with him.

The other thing I finally splurged on is a milk frother!! You might thing, but Emma that sounds lame (& maybe you are right) but my frothy chai latte says otherwise. I will literally never need Starbucks again.

Lets give it a whirl shall we?

This is bringing me a stupid amount of glee. I bought the Secura milk frother linked above but scored it for only $49!

Take Two!

2018 has arrived and I can already tell she’s a cold bitch! Feels like… -40?! I kid you not.

And she’s a tricky one too because if you woke up and looked outside you’d actually think it’s a lovely day. All the sunshine and blue skies…

But it’s not. It’s a cruel & horrible joke.

I don’t know about you but there is no way I’m leaving my house this weekend (or for possibly the next week, let’s be real). This seems like the perfect time to instead shop online and get back to blogging.

I decided over my Christmas break, after my father remarked that my next job should be personal shopper because I know exactly what to get and where to find it. When your Country farming dad notices you shopping skills, it really makes you take note. I love blogging and have been doing it on and off for years but hit the same stumbling block each time: I rarely want to take photos of myself, regardless of how fabulous the outfit is. It doesn’t suit my lifestyle most days and so the blog suffers.

This brings us to 2018 though. Time to try something new! Take two!

I will still occasionally feature my outfits but I also want to showcase all of my other shopping ventures! My various subscription services, Amazon finds, Etsy treasures as well as vintage hunts, road trip amusements and everything that falls into its own fabulous category.

Full of Fabulous is going to take you shopping.

Ice Cream Dream: All New Flavour

fullsizeoutput_8c7

Surprise! I’m back and with a whole new ice cream inspired hairdo!

I’m loving my lavender locks with silver and purple all through. It was the perfect change I needed to bring in fall…only fall seems to have missed the memo! Today was one of the hottest days of the year and we just celebrated the first day of autumn. What gives?

Summer heat meant ice cream treats though! I completely adore this skirt from PlusBKLYN, a cute shop in, obviously Brooklyn, with a full & fun online store. My wardrobe became 110% more fun when I discovered them.

Endless Summer

I’m completely ready to start a nomad life so I can live in warm weather year round. And also can it always be the weekend?

IMG_6869
Oh ya, I totes live here.

I kind of want to live in a permanent weekend mode and wear party outfits on the regular.

In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m obsessed with Eloquii’s summer line. The site is filled with amazing sales plus the types of patterns and colours that get me wound up. Rumour has it this skirt is now on sale!

Take me out!

Paired with just a simple Old Navy tank top and some fun nails, this outfit got me enough compliments while out for coffee and some local window shopping, to make me blush.

Sonshine in Ottawa

I don’t really talk about my family much here on the blog, but today you get a look into that part of my life while following along on my recent adventure to Ottawa.

Recently my son, Phoenix, graduated from high school. When your one and only child makes this big step into adulthood I assure, it’s impossible to not become emotional, reflective…and a little big clingy.

As a single mother this gentle giant has been my best companion and the greatest sidekick for all adventures. It seemed completely fitting to organize one last roadtrip together before he moves in August for college. Since Canada is celebrating 150 years I chose Ottawa, our capital.

Creepy iconic Canadian sculpture outside the National Gallery

We spent our time visiting some awesome places, eating great food and making memories I’m going to carry with me for a long time.

National Art Gallery of Canada

Long on my list of places to visit has been the National Gallery. Since we spent many of our days together at galleries, in art classes or at my art school together it seemed fitting to go with my son.

I wore my new favourite maxi dress from Forever21+ and then this happened…

She was just here, I swear

You can’t plan this kind of awesome. Even a curator walking by stopped to have a laugh and congratulate me on a great photo op!

IMG_6839

While this photo looks like a pregnancy announcement, I swear it is not .. I just love Klimt.

After a morning at the gallery and some shopping we decided we weren’t hungry enough for lunch but could some how manage enough room for this…

IMG_6803

We had hopes of checking out the Museum of Science and Technology but it was still under construction so we chose the Museum of Nature instead. It was pretty fantastic in it’s own right!

IMG_6817
It’s possible he’s appalled by my roots and not hungry, right?

IMG_6821

Most magical was probably this 3 story high jellyfish. It was amazing from every angle!

So this mama is home, tired and my feet are just a wee bit sore today but I’m incredibly thankful for all the laughs and memories we just created. Hopefully we have lots of roadtrips ahead of us…

Subscription Addiction – CAUSEBOX Summer

IMG_5183

The beautiful CAUSEBOX arrived to my mailbox today and I’ve had to catch my breath!

fullsizeoutput_765

The box itself was stunning.

Inside…

IMG_5188fullsizeoutput_766

Some of the most wonderful and unique products I’ve seen in a subscription box. Beautiful products with beautiful intentions.

First was Nashelle. A jewelry brand that donates a plate of food for each piece sold!

fullsizeoutput_769

Beautiful ring!

Coconut Sunstick from All Good. I’m excited to try this on next week’s cottage trip!

fullsizeoutput_76a

All Good has a commitment to making good things for your body and our planet ❤

Shelly Steer artwork.

fullsizeoutput_76bIMG_6468

I’ve long wanted to place a large order of puravida bracelets so this was a truly delightful surprise (and now I feel like I simply must order some of the fun matching ones now)! Perfect summer colours from Costa Rica artists all the way to my doorstep.

Haiti Design Co. focuses on putting people above profit and creating fashion for good. I love the leather tassel keychain included in the Causebox. Beautiful.

fullsizeoutput_771

And the Mason Bar company – I received a lid, a stainless steel straw and the large wide mouth mason jar to rock the nicest travel mug ever and some Pure Moringa smoothie powder to fill this jar up with a powerful smoothie concoction (a great smoothie recipe was included in the included magazine)!

I’m all ready to give this Kalos Triple Threat detox a try and report back to you. I am hyper critical of face products so I will let you know, but I do love that this is all natural and organic!

IMG_6480

And lastly in the box were these Altru paper products; notebook and bookmark, handmade by artisans in Jaipur, India! So pretty!!

fullsizeoutput_764

So overall review; I am in love with this box, in case that wasn’t obvious. The products are beautiful, the styles and colours suit me perfectly. The organization and the product makers support amazing causes. This price point ($49.95USD) is completely worth it and because I try out a lot of subscription boxes I really love how unique this box was in every way.

Will I continue my subscription? Heck yes!

Check out CAUSEBOX, and their FAQ for more information.
